Simple separation of the catalyst using an external magnet, efficient recyclability of the developed magnetic nanocatalyst up to five fresh runs without significant loss in its catalytic activity, excellent yields of the designed reactions (88 to 98%), low reaction times as well as solvent-free and facial reaction condition are some advantages of the present procedure that qualified the fabricated magnetic nanocatalyst for industrial applications.

Preparation of a poly(phthalazine ether sulfone ketone) membrane with propanedioic acid as an additive and the prediction of its structure

In this study, propanedioic acid was investigated as a potential additive in poly(phthalazine ether sulfone ketone) (PPESK)/N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone solutions. Synthesis of hydralazine-N-lactose and its metabolites in vitro

Hydralazine-N-lactose is a main impurity in hydralazine tablets. Hydralazine and lactose were used as raw materials, and silica gel column and preparation column of octadecylsilane bonded silica were selected to prepare and purify hydralazine-N-lactose. Its in vitro metabolites were identified by utilizing SD rat liver microsomes. The structural properties of this Bronsted solid acid were systematically investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis-derivative thermogravimetric analysis (TGA-DTG), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) measurements. The catalytic activity of this nanocomposite was successfully tested through the one-pot synthesis of 1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-5,10-diones via three-component couplings of phthalhydrazide, aromatic aldehydes, and malononitrile. The heterogeneous catalyst could be recovered easily and reused without significant loss of its catalytic activity.

The antimicrobial activity of Hz(2)DAP and the obtained complexes [Co(Hz(2)DAP-H)Cl-2]center dot MeOH, [Ni(Hz(2)DAP-H)]Cl center dot MeOH, [Cu(Hz(2)DAP-H)Cl] and [Zn(Hz(2)DAP-2H)]center dot H2O were tested in vitro against selected Gram(-) and Gram(+) bacterial strains and fungi. The antimicrobial activity of the ligand is negligible, while its complexes with Ni-II, Co-III and Cu-II show considerable activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Micrococcus lysodeikticus. On the contrary, [Zn(Hz(2)DAP-2H)]center dot H2O promotes the growth of Candida albicans, while its antibacterial activity is negligible.
